Title: Juvenescence
Rating: G
Words: ~2540
Summary: Sarah Williams is eighteen during the Eden Prime War and twenty-one during the Reaper War.
Notes: Written for
ladiesofmasseffect and
omegastation's Rare Female Characters Week. This started life as meta pointing out her estimated age during the game events which impact her, but then all my headcanon about her life that I couldn't work into my main fic universe fell in.
Related works: References a few events from the Relay Monument Incident universe, hence the tag, but can definitely stand alone.
( She's six when she starts aikido on Ferris Fields and ten when her father's transferred to Amaterasu's token garrison and the whole family moves planets for the third time in her life. )

Title: Signal Corps ‣ 3: personal correspondence
Rating: PG13 (sexual references)
Words: ~3200
Summary: Garrus changes his mind about not risking Ashley's career (much). As it turns out, she doesn't need to be talked into staying in contact. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. E-mail logs for Garrus Vakarian on Omega and then on the Normandy SR-2. "This user has been reassigned. Please contact their commanding officer for their current e-mail address."
Notes: Haha whoops I managed to make it work. I should perhaps note that besides Joker and Chakwas, these weren't the only e-mails Garrus sent to the Normandy squad, just the only ones Ash-related.
( I didn't realize six months had gone by. )

Title: Polytrauma
Rating: PG (Jack cameo)
Words: ~4330
Summary: While Ashley recovers from the Mars mission, Garrus tries to visit her.
( Garrus doesn't think much of it when he finds a poetry book made of real paper in starboard obs, assuming Kasumi must have left it behind when they all left on the way to Earth. )

Title: Perfidy
Rating: PG-13 (F-bombs)
Words: ~1330
Summary: Ashley's first solo mission brings not one, but two familiar faces.
( When her first solo mission is to calibrate Horizon's GARDIAN turrets, Ashley doesn't know whether to laugh or cry or blurt out, 'But the Reapers might learn how to love!' )

Title: Signal Corps ‣ 1: message chain
Rating: PG13 (language)
Words: ~5370
Summary: Garrus changes his mind about not risking Ashley's career (much). As it turns out, she doesn't need to be talked into staying in contact. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. E-mail logs for Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams, stationed at Systems Alliance Rapid Response Base 3. "I'm so glad you changed your mind about not staying in touch."
Notes: Ashley's third to last e-mail was run through the Zantherus Drunk Post Translator, which is why some of the typos look extremely unlikely. But who knows what future keyboard layouts are like? Her quote is from "Mad Girl's Love Song" by Sylvia Plath. "Dad loved all those sappy poets. Mom was more into Plath." Soundtrack: "Living in Your Letters" (unplugged) by Dashboard Confessional.
( In case the e-mail address didn't give it away, it's your cultural exchange/xenobiology research partner. )

Title: Garrison Rations
Rating: G
Words: ~520
Summary: When Garrus and Tali get dextro flu on Rannoch, Ashley tries to make them chicken noodle soup. Or the dextro equivalent which she can't pronounce.
Related works: 3 era future of "Second Contact War", though not necessarily canonical for that universe nor necessarily in the same continuity as "Reparations".
( Damn, Ash, I didn't know you cook. )
